Most bow ties feel paper-thin, scratchy, and flimsy — and the knot loses its shape within minutes. We set out to fix that. Every tie we make is judged on the three factors that actually determine quality: fabric, interlining, and weave.
1. Premium Fabric
Silk quality is measured in momme weight — the weight of 100 yards of silk. Cheaper ties often use 8–9 mm silk; high-quality silk sits in the 14–16 mm range. Every Bow Tie Guy tie is specified at a minimum of 16 mm, so it feels substantial the moment it hits your hands — and we do it at a price that won't break the bank.
2. The LUXEFLEX™ 3-Layer Interlining
Interlining is what gives a bow tie its shape, integrity, and fullness. Many manufacturers skip it entirely to cut costs, which is why so many ties go floppy. We spent over 12 months testing fabrics, weights, and constructions to engineer a 3-layer interlining that delivers body, flex, and a full knot that holds all day. It's the heart of our Luxe Collection.
3. Woven Design & Texture
There are three ways to put a design on a bow tie. Printing is the cheapest and most common at big-box brands — we reserve it only for very intricate casual patterns. Most of our designs are woven into the fabric as it's created, which gives a richer, more luxurious texture that printing can't match. For logos, we use embroidery.
A Premium Adjustment System
Instead of the standard hook-and-loop strap with black sizing numbers, our Luxe ties use a premium alloy slider to dial in your exact neck size cleanly and comfortably.
Vetted, Every Time
Each of our manufacturers is vetted through a 6–8 month process to make sure the quality holds, batch after batch. Nobody likes a crappy product — least of all us.
